Pin Up

You're not the first girl to draw her fears on her arms

In hopes to capture all the memories that hunted you down
You can sew you're lips down with you're heartstrings
'Cause I know you won't need them to hold yourself together

Just don't look down 'cause falling down is fatal
You should've never hold yourself this high.

You're not the first girl to cut her fears in her arms

Then let them trickle down
Past memories
To pools in her hands.

You can hang yourself with your heartstrings
'Cause i know you won't use them to hold yourself up anymore.

Pull the needle from the back of my wings
And I will fall to the floor
And you just won't ... pull yourself together

You're not the first girl to carve her pain on her arms.

How can you know what I'm feeling when its all locked inside
To wear it on my body
Free what words cannot describe

A thin red line tells you where the pain its been
I see the red but no pain to feel
So many secrets hide beneath my skin

She bleeds.
Internal blackness fades to white
Outside vermillion
Stains the water,
Spirals to the bottom as it congeals.

For a moment she is numb
The scarlet's washing her pain.
But darkness doesn't leave
For long,
And the ichor returns to stray
Her disconsolate hue
Cold.

But not today.
